In our bustle time, we want to find some more time for ourselves. And bathroom is exactly this place where you can retire, relax and spend time taking care about your own beauty and comfort. Therefore, the bathroom design has to be functional. It needs to be organized as a SPA, with all these elements that help you to relax physically and mentally, forgetting about everyday troubles for a while. We’ll share with you a few ideas of creating a small home SPA.
1. The ideal bath
Bathtub itself is the center for the bathroom. An elegant antique bath tub is an excellent variant for getting relaxing water procedures. You can select a thin cast iron bath – it has a high heat capacity and looks stylish. Faux stone bath tubs keep warm even better stone, but these units are not the cheap. Hot tubs are also considered to be SPA baths. It is better if the hot tub is deep and large.Do not forget the curtains for the bathroom – besides decorative function they guarantee privacy.
2. Tropical shower
If your bathroom has a shower only – do not worry – arrange SPA treatments as well. Shower will provide you with a wonderful full body massage. You can install a hot shower or a built-in shower with the jets. You can equip a comfortable place to sit taking a shower. And finally, for lovers of everything bold and unusual, we can recommend a horizontal shower, which is taken lying down. It is a great stuff for relaxation!
3. Natural elements
Get inspiration from nature. Such elements as stone, slate and wood will help your body to relax, and your eyes – to rest. Pay attention to the walls and the floor finishing. The gorgeous wooden floors or exquisite marble tiles and ceiling, bathroom vanity from natural materials will work perfectly. Choose plumbing in neutral colors – it will match stones and wood. Seashells and stones can serve as the simplest, but the best decor.
4. More Nature
Watching nature we relax and get piece in our souls. We can decorate bathroom with natural plants, but it is problematic: our urban bathrooms do not have enough light and ventilation. However, there are other options. Use bright “splashes” of green even in the smallest bathroom. Bright green towels, mural with photos of nature, green tiles on an accent wall – all this will add your bathroom freshness and harmony.
5. Smart storage
Of course, SPA treatments need numerous “helpers”: mineral salts, oils, scrubs. All this stuff should be better kept in streamlined transparent vessels. As their simplicity and elegance will help to keep the atmosphere of peace and order. Open wooden shelves will store the larger items. Wicker storage baskets for storage will look cool in the natural interior of SPA.
6. The right materials
Reflective and glossy materials, cream color tile plates ( small or large natural plates), translucent frosted glass shower doors, alabaster marble countertops – all this is pleasant to be touched and pleasing to your eyes. However, it is also practical: such materials enhance the natural light, and expand the space visually.
