Toy chests for kids rooms

Living Room

Interior Designer. Project design and supervision.

For many years various types of toy chests have been helping children to keep their favorite toys and puzzles organized. If kids do not have a certain toy storage they will leave toys everywhere.

Thus chests for toys provide children with a special place place to keep their stuff.

This teaches them to be organized in their future adult’s life. In reality, any storage which is rather spacious can be a toy chest. Even a table with a storage or several convenient cute pouf ottomans placed in your child’s room may be used for these purposes. If a child has got really many toys and boxes with games, puzzles and whatnot you can buy a toys’ organizer with several boxes-departments for miscellaneous. Designs of chests for keeping kids’ stuff and materials of these units are also different. These units should be safe, made from non-toxic materials, they should not have sharp angles and glass. A classic chest for toys with hinged cover is made of real hardwood. However, metal and wood boxes are also used. Plastic and acrylic boxes which are offered at popular discounters are very lightweight units, bright and colorful.

Girls will love red and pink plastic chests with prints, boys can be given large chests for their toys made from blue and green acrylic or plastic. The shape of a chest may be different – from classic square and rectangular to bold original one. A large chest with several drawers will help your child to learn how to sort his (or hers) items, be accurate and neat.

Choosing a chest, storage or a box which will be used further to put toys inside check if the unit is safe. If it features a lid it may hit his fingers. Thus you may upholster the edges of the lid with soft fabric or leather. Some parents build the chests for toys themselves. A custom chest design depends only on the fantasy of a master.
